Not too long ago, I reviewed an EP from Toronto pop artist, Alexa Ferr, but now she has released a mixtape as a gift to her fans, “Shades of My Lipstick (The Christmas Treats). The mixtape was released on Christmas Day on her soundcloud page.

The mixtape features 4 songs, which showcase Alexa’s vocals and style of music perfectly. The first song is the lead single, “Love Me Long Time” which has an electronic feel to it, ad well as So Hard (To Love You), which features Alexa’s beautiful voice, but I must say my favourite is the third song, “Far Away” as it’s a slower track and in my opinion the slower the song, the more emphasis put on the vocals and shows Alexa’s vocal range.

You may recognize the fourth song, “All I Want For Christmas is You” as a Mariah Carey cover. Alexa does a great job with this song, she puts her own fresh sound on the song.

Rating: 4/5
