Royal Creatures is a Toronto based post-punk band made up of Maurice Gatto, Dan Raciacot, Derek Lewis and Scott Birke.

The band played a packed show at CMW this year and were accepted to Calgary’s Sled Island Music Festival, unfortunately having to decline due to a wedding in the band, but were able to dodge the flood in the process. The band has played throughout Southern Ontario, and has growing fanbases in Guelph, Ajax and Oshawa.

Their EP cover features the work of Toronto artist, David Amos, and will soon be the label of Toronto brewery Collective Arts Brwing’s flagship beer, Rhyme & Reason Extra Pale Ale, in the fall of 2013 after being selected from hundreds of applicants.

As for the four tracks on the EP, they are full of energy and intense sound. My favourite track on the EP is Jarvis Lanes. It gives a bit more of a pop-punk feel than the other tracks. The sound is so upbeat but yet somehow also gives off a heaviness that shows up in all of the songs.
