Throwback Thursday – This Could Be Anywhere in the World – Alexisonfire

By: Tara Thompson

Released in 2006, This Could Be Anywhere In The World was the first single off Alexisonfire’s album Crisis. The song was nominated at the 2007 MuchMusic Video Awards for MuchLOUD Best Rock Video, People’s Choice: Favourite Canadian Group and won the award for Best Cinematography.

I was never a huge fan of Alexisonfire until I saw them live in 2007 where they put off an awesome show. I checked out their music beforehand and this was the song that stood out to me the most. It’s still one of my favourite Alexisonfire songs to date.

I’m Tara and I’m a graphic designer from Newfoundland. In 2004, I found out who Hedley were are they became my first favorite band and 11 years later they still have that top spot for me. I am very fortunate to live in a city where there is a ton of amazing musicians. I’ve grown very fond of the local music scene in St. John’s and some of my favorite bands are ones I’ve met through going to local shows.
