Tuned In Tuesday - Fighting for Ithaca - Stay the Same

This week’s Tuned In Tuesday comes from Vancouver band, Fighting For Ithaca. Although they do not have a video for this song, it is by far one of my favourites. “Stay The Same” is a song about, as the title suggests, staying the same. It is one of the slower songs off of ‘To The Rescue’.

Personally, I think the message of the song is to stay yourself, no matter what is going on in your life. No matter what crap you have to go through, if you stay true to yourself, you’ll get through it. This song is an example of how beautifully the band can perform live. I had the privilege to see this in December when they visited Charlottetown with Faber Drive on the LIPTour in 2012.

If you haven’t already done so, I highly suggest you buy their album here on iTunes: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/to-the-rescue!!/id571039959 and check out their websites:

-Amanda Hather- Canadian Beats

I’m a Toronto girl born and raised but have been living in Prince Edward Island and New Brunswick since 2010. Music and writing are my two passions, so what better place for me to be than a writer with Canadian Beats? I have been writing for the blog since May of 2013 and have had so many great experiences because of it. I listen to almost every kind of music but my favourites are pop rock, rock, indie, folk, and any other combinations of them. Concerts are definitely my favourite place to be, especially when you’re right against the barricade and can feel the energy from the band and the crowd, everyone singing the same lyrics and moving to the music. I also have a college degree in Business Administration and hope to one day be able to publish a novel.
