Throwback Thursday – Stereos – Summer Girl

For this week on Throwback Thursday, I am featuring a song that was stuck in my head constantly back in 2009, that song was Summer Girl by Stereos.

Stereos wwere a pop band from Edmonton, Alberta, who unfortunately broke up in 2012 and are now working on many new projects individually.

Summer Girl was a summer “anthem” so to speak about meeting a girl and wanting to hook up with her despite the fact that she has a boyfriend. The song was their first single off their self-titled debut album.

The song peaked at #2 on the Canadian Hot 100 amd #35 on the Year-end chart.

I have a passion for promoting these talented Canadian bands and artists, and that’s how Canadian Beats came to be. I am so proud of what it has become over the last few years, with many talented music lovers and writers coming together to spread the word of Canada’s music.
